Red Light Therapy

A supportive modality used alongside hands-on treatment to enhance tissue healing and recovery.

What Is Red Light Therapy?

Red Light Therapy uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to support cellular function and tissue recovery.

These wavelengths penetrate the skin and interact with cells to help improve energy production, circulation, and healing capacity. Red light therapy is commonly used to support recovery, reduce inflammation, and improve tissue quality.

At Modern Movement, red light therapy is not used as a stand-alone service. It is most often integrated alongside hands-on treatments such as dry needling to enhance therapeutic outcomes.

How Red Light Therapy Works

Red light therapy works at the cellular level by stimulating mitochondria — the energy-producing structures inside your cells.

This can help:

  • Improve cellular energy production
  • Increase blood flow and oxygen delivery
  • Support tissue repair and recovery
  • Reduce inflammation and oxidative stress

When combined with treatments like dry needling, red light therapy can help tissues recover more efficiently and improve how the body responds to care.

Why We Use Red Light Therapy

We primarily use red light therapy in conjunction with dry needling and other hands-on interventions to support tissue healing and nervous system regulation.

Red light therapy at Modern Movement is:

  • Used as a complement to active treatment
  • Commonly paired with dry needling
  • Applied strategically, not as a standalone service
  • Integrated into a broader care plan

It’s meant to support the work being done — not replace it.

Red Light Therapy Can Help With

When used alongside treatment, red light therapy may support:

  • Tissue recovery following dry needling
  • Reduction in post-treatment soreness
  • Improved circulation to targeted areas
  • Muscle and soft tissue healing
  • Inflammation management

We do not typically offer red light therapy as a service on its own. Its use is determined based on your treatment needs and clinical goals.
